Temptation!

During my uni days in Melbourne, the live band scene was pumping. And the lead up to a gig was almost as fun as the gig itself. That feeling returned a few weeks ago when we hit the Valley to enjoy some amazing beverages at Alfred & Constance before seeing one of my favourite bands, The Tea Party at The Valley Drive In

Tucked away in the back streets of Fortitude Valley, Alfred & Constance is set in and around two old timber Queenslanders. A relaxed vibe in an eclectic setting, we kicked back in the beer garden and enjoyed a couple of beautifully refreshing white lady cocktails which lucky for us, were the special of the evening (recipe here).

Despite being tempted to move on to the party happening over at the Tiki Bar, we made our way to the gig at The Valley Drive In.  We had heard mixed reviews of this place, but put our faith in Jeff Martin and the boys who assured us they knew what they were doing with their choice of venue.  Sometimes it pays to ignore the Google Reviews and listen to the band – because they did not disappoint!!! This place was fantastic. A fully licensed, starlit open air venue in the centre of the Valley – the vibe was electric and acoustics were spot on.  As for the Tea Party – this Review pretty much sums up everything I would say myself – just epic.
